Drew: Been very, very busy playing with friends and cousins over the weekend. And, unfortunately, fighting a bit of a cold that backed up into his tear ducts. No pink eye, but the poor kid looks like he's been punched in the eye due to redness and swelling. We're just thankful that regardless of how he looks, he still has his sweet, friendly personality:)- He enjoyed his first night of babysitting with girls other than family! Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a night out together at a firemen's cancer benefit at the Thunderbirds Hockey game... while Drew was adored by two 12 year-old girls! It was so cute when we came home to find him (literally) so neatly tucked away in bed. Normally, you would find Drew sprawled out in his bed with blankets, puppies and books all over the bed... Nope, not last night. He was lying on his back (with his head on his puppy as a pillow) and snuggly wrapped in by his comforter and wasnt moving:)-
Too cute! I would've taken a picture but my camera battery was dead:(
Baby: I am now 21 weeks along & am looking forward to our ultrasound next week. We have been strongly convinced that it's a boy, so we're excited to finally find out!! I can't wait to put his/her room together & turn Drew's room into a BIG BOY's room:)-I have been feeling great, despite last week's events, and am feeling truly pregnant now as it's difficult to bend over, tie my shoes, etc... basically, whatever requires seeing over the belly:) So stay tuned for either Baby Boy or Baby Girl...
Mitch: How wonderful it is to have such a willing handyman of a husband!! He put beautiful french doors into our basement last week & is now working on replacing the basement carpet. His BIG task this week will be to rip up the carpet & pad with Helper Drew!! Helper Drew is rather excited and has all his Handy Manny tools out, while daddy may be a little more apprehensive:) But excited.... so thanks, babe! You're the best!
Me: Just trying to keep sane with being a wife, mommy, nurse and student. This semester has been very emotionally, physically, and mentally challenging for me. I will be taking two semesters off with the baby coming. I don't want to miss out on precious times because I'm studying somewhere in a coffee shop... I want to treasure all the little moments with our beautiful, ever-growing family! I am just thankful that the Lord continually keeps me focused 'on the goal' and I can see it coming sooner every week!! Come on summer:) I can't wait to spend tons of time with my husband and children (crazy to say that!) playing, having picnics, boating and travelling. We have big plans for the summer & wish it was here...but the wait makes it more sweet.
We had a great weekend in the Quad Cities celebrating Miss Ava's sixth birthday!! She's growing so fast! She was just a little girl at our wedding & is now a big school girl! Time goes fast... She & Drew are the best of friends & is so cute to see them interact & have 'secret hideouts' together... Sorry, again no pictures because my camera died & even though I keep saying that, I still haven't placed it on the charger:) We are looking forward to Papa coming up & helping daddy with the carpet... love you guys!
