The Williams: 2009

I hope the "Countdown to Christmas" finds everyone happy, healthy & enjoying precious time with one another. It's so easy to get distracted this time of year and lose focus on what we're ready to celebrate...the birth of Christ! I realized this the other day when it just seemed like chaos was unfolding and I couldn't (or didn't have the energy to...) stop it. We did introduce Drew to Santa this year & found out, "Um, he's really not that cool!" :) His Pappy's is so proud!!

Our blizzard is over and our backyard deck accumulated 16 inches of snow! Praise the Lord for a snowblower - props to mimi's and pappies! Mitch still had so much work to do, but it definitely was better than shoveling:) We now just have damage control and have to really stretch if we want our mail because it pretty much covers our mailbox:)

We will hear our baby's sweet little heartbeat next week & are so excited! I have had a drastically different pregnancy experience this go-around! With Drew, I felt so well that it was hard to believe I was actually pregnant. This time....If I'm in your car, please always have emergency snacks... be ready to pull over at any moment for any reason...realize I may very well be having a laughing attack that will quickly turn into uncontrollable sobs...please do not mention the word 'fish' - for some reason, just saying that word automatically gives me a whiff of fish (not cool)...
Who said pregnancy was glamorous? :) I just keep saying, "It will all be so worth it when we are blessed with a healthy baby!"

So if I don't get around to blogging before Christmas, may the joy of Christ be with everyone this Christmas season! Remember, He is the Reason for the Season!! Blessings to you and yours...

As Iowa's under the decade's worst blizzed warning, what else would I have to do but create a new blog!! We are expected to get (over 48hrs) over 14 inches of snow! AAgghh! But I can't help when someone says 'blizzard' to raise my hand, hoping someone is talking about DQ:) Sorry, Kali...no such luck! I mean, to me, what's better than to sit in a blizzard while eating...a blizzard!

So I realize that I haven't blogged in like...almost 2 years?? Ha:) Well, no explanation, I guess. So, if New Year's Resolutions can come early..here's mine! To keep all my friends posted:) Where would one even begin to update the last 2 year's of events?? It's been fun to continually follow my friend's blogs but, for some reason, never thought to keep mine updated. So with many requests, here ya go...

DREW: He is 20 months already! What an absolute joy he has been! Some would say (aka...Pappy, MiMi) that he is 'brilliant' :) He loves to keep busy and be involved in everything...and when I say 'everything', I mean it:) We cannot believe how fast this last year has gone & that his 2nd birthday is around the corner...crazy! And we can't believe how every little thing that comes out of our mouths is very quickly repeated....hhmmm, something to keep us accountable!

MITCH: He was hired onto the City of Dubuque's Fire Department this summer! This was an amazing gift from God! Not only is it his life's passion, but it also provides wonderful family benefits with scheduling, etc!!! He works about 12-24hr shifts a month...making him a part-time daddy, too! Drew and daddy cherish their days off together! Best buds!!! Mommy doesn't ever really want to know exactly what goes on when she's at work with those two home...

ME: I am still in my master's program for nursing! This will be a long road ahead yet...although I try to be "Super-Woman", being a wife, mommy, and full-time nurse doesn't allot a ton of free time, so I will take a 'comfortable' pace at this degree. I am praying for more leadership roles on my church's worship team. I feel an ever-present 'tugging' from the Lord that He's going to greatly use me in music ministry...just waiting for God's timing to show itself!

BABY: ??? What?? Baby who?! Oh, that's right:) Baby Williams! I am expecting our second child that's due in July. We are so thrilled with the blessing of another child & daily pray for God's protection of health and happiness. Boy/Girl??...we will soon find out!!

Hopefully this has brought everyone up to speed! More to come...seriously, more will come:)
